    The question of starting gym sessions has been a topic of discussion for quite a while now, and one of the biggest dilemmas in heavy lifting is if early weight lifting causes stunt growth to kids who start getting involved in heavy lifting as teens. Just hold on, and we’ll get an answer to that question sooner. For one’s body to grow properly, one requires simple things like proper nutrition and exercise. So the question is, are gym classes important and at what age. We’ll be looking at those answers in a few. Sit tight.

    The importance

    Kicking off with exercise classes as a child or young adult is important for your kid’s health and mental growth. For kids as young as 2 years, they should get to be doing exercises as early as that age, spending an average of 1 hour per day. They can be involved in short exercises like running, rope skipping, or frog jumping. In addition, encourage them to do aerobic activities at least 3 days a week that make them breathe fast and their hearts pound.

    The advantages of children getting to do regular exercise include improved their self-esteem, they’ll have a healthy body, maintaining their body weight plus also they’ll get to have more and improved sleep.

    Between the age of 4 to 7 years old is ideal to help kids develop great motor skills. This can be achieved by either taking part in walking activities, running, tagging, and frog jumping, generally, anything that can keep their hearts pounding. At this age, most kids would most likely start developing more interest in some kind of sports than others. It is a good idea to always encourage them to participate in all especially they want to be taking part in to, encourage them to be fully active in all.

    The interest

    When most kids turn 12 or 14 years it’s most likely that they have already developed an interest in some sporting activities or hobbies like basketball, football, hockey, etc. This is the best moment for them to be encouraged to start having regular 1-hour sessions as frequently as 3 to 4 days per week. Bone-strengthening activities are important to this age bracket.

    Around age 13 to 18, it’s okay for the young teens to start on this new journey of physical fitness of weight lifting. With the supervision of an adult or a trainer, they’ll be guided on starting with body weight exercises and lifting lighter weights and advance as time goes by. Though many gyms don’t allow access to kids younger than 16 years. It is also wise to let them know that physical changes in the body take time to start taking effect. Muscle-strengthening activities like push-ups come in handy.

    Age friendliness

    It’s important to be able to identify which activities are suitable for your kid according to his/her age. Some of these exercises mentioned above happen to be more beneficial when done with children than young teenagers. For instance, younger children usually strengthen their muscles when they do aerobics or climbing trees. As for young teens, as adolescence kicks in, they get to start taking part in structured weight lifting programs.

    Final Thoughts

    At what age can you go to the gym? Between 14 and 16 years is an ideal age as long as the best 1-hour practices are kept in mind. It is evident now that weight lifting has never been a cause of stunt growth. Though it is risky to smart it before age 12 or 14 for the bones are still developing. It is wise enough to have a trainer or a guardian to help when starting the gym to get a more guided approach on the same.
